Who are we?
Andrew Hartley - Managing Director
After graduating in German and European Studies, I joined one of the top national recruitment agencies. I spent 10 years working in a variety of roles, the last 5 of which as Regional Director of 13 busy branches, focusing on the South Coast and M3 corridor. Armed with this experience and having secured a significant investment, I took the opportunity to start an independent agency with the aim of setting new standards in Southampton and the surrounding area. I am very proud that since opening in 2007 we have built up many fantastic relationships with local employers and candidates and are fast becoming Southampton's busiest agency! Out of work my passion is racing mountain bikes, taking on endurance road cycle challenges (2011 was my biggest yet - a 210 km stage of the Tour de France!) and windsurfing.
Emma Hoskins - Business Manager
I graduated in Sports Science, with all the good intentions of a career in sport. However, I realised I was never going to be a World Champion, so needed to find a proper job! After working for a travel company and an office equipment reseller, I walked into a recruitment agency, loved what I saw and the rest is history! I spent 9 fantastic years working for a national agency and made it into the top 10 consultants. I was then promoted to run my own branch which I took from strength to strength for 3 years (the highlight was personally being nominated as account manager of the year by a major national client!). In December 2007 I jumped at the chance to join Andrew with his venture and am really proud to be part of such an exciting company. I am very sociable and enjoy sport, especially watching rugby. I also go to the gym to try to counteract my love of food! I moved house last year so this year's project is decorating!
Lisa Edwards – Senior Consultant
An early love of travel led me to complete an HND in Leisure and Tourism. I then pursued a career within Business Travel, spending 7 years organising complex trips for a multinational company. When I decided I needed a challenge and a new opportunity, I met a friend of a friend who introduced me to the world of recruitment and I haven't looked back since! I then spent 7 great years working for a national agency and during this time proved that recruitment is certainly the job for me! Within the first couple of years I was one of the Top 3 Consultants in the company and for the last 2 years I was number 1 (out of over 250 consultants), an achievement I am very proud of! I am delighted to be part of the Hartley Resourcing team and am really excited to be working towards our aim of being the best recruitment agency on the South Coast! When I am not working I play netball within a local league and I love going on holiday (Don't we all?!)
Laura Fisher - Consultant
Prior to starting a career in recruitment in 2005 I graduated with a degree in Drama & Theatre Studies. I had no idea what I wanted to do as a career so carried out a number of temporary roles to give me more of an insight into the business world. Having worked within a variety of industries including Construction, Hospitality, Property and The Cabinet Office, I realised very quickly that I wanted a career which involved dealing with people. I love my job as it is a constant challenge and fast paced. At Hartley Resourcing we recruit for a wide range of roles so I never stop learning and working with a great team means that every day at least one person makes me laugh. In my free time, I play the harp at weddings, teach yoga and relax by baking.
Emma Russell - Consultant
After leaving college and not knowing what I wanted to do (do any of us?), I fell into the Financial Services industry, where I stayed for 18 years! I started my working life at a large Assurance company and during my eight years there I was lucky to hold a variety of roles and receive several promotions. I then decided I would like to make a change and joined a firm of Independent Financial Advisers, eventually moving from there to work within the Financial Planning team of one of the most prestigious Private Client Banks, dealing with extremely high net worth clients. Whilst I enjoyed the customer service element of my job, after 18 years working within Financial Services I decided I needed a new challenge and I wanted to get back some of that job satisfaction I felt I was missing. I met with Andrew to talk about my next possible career choice and the rest as they say is history! I am loving my new role and the satisfaction it brings by finding the perfect match for our clients and our candidates. In my spare time I like nothing more than going for a walk along the beach with my dog, meeting up with friends and the occasional (?!) shopping trip.
Cindy Denham - Consultant
After completing an HND in Business, Finance & Marketing I spent 10 years at HSBC specialising in home insurance (technical underwriting, product and literature development). Following two years living and working abroad I joined a national agency in 2004 where I met Andrew and Lisa and found my passion for recruitment. In 2005 I joined a specialist agency and spent 6 years developing a technical and insurance based business within the public and private sector with highlights being achieving Top Consultant awards and running a successful nationwide account for a claims management company. Now I am really proud to have joined Hartley Resourcing to work with such a strong team. In my spare time I enjoy Scuba Diving, holidays and making jewellery.
Martin Wilson - Consultant
My working career started with a local construction company where I undertook numerous roles. I completed a City and Guilds qualification in bricklaying and even spent 2 years working in France during my 6 years with the company. I then joined one of Europe's leading insurance companies in their claims department and after several years and a couple of promotions with the company I left that role to join one of the UK's largest independent insurance brokers within customer service. I met Andrew through a family friend and he recommended a career within recruitment, so when the opportunity arose to join the team it was an easy decision to make. I am really looking forward to using my customer service experience to build new relationships and help people find their dream job. In my spare time I love playing football and generally keeping fit.
