Who are we?
Andrew Hartley - Managing Director
After graduating in German and European Studies, I joined one of the top national recruitment agencies. I spent 10 years working in a variety of roles, the last 5 of which as Regional Director of 13 busy branches, focusing on the South Coast and M3 corridor. Armed with this experience and having secured a significant investment, I took the opportunity to start an independent agency with the aim of setting new standards in Southampton and the surrounding area. I am very proud that since opening in 2007 we have built up many fantastic relationships with local employers and candidates and are fast becoming Southampton's busiest agency! Out of work my passion is racing mountain bikes, taking on endurance road cycle challenges (2011 was my biggest yet - a 210 km stage of the Tour de France!) and windsurfing.
Emma Hoskins - Business Manager
I graduated in Sports Science, with all the good intentions of a career in sport. However, I realised I was never going to be a World Champion, so needed to find a proper job! After working for a travel company and an office equipment reseller, I walked into a recruitment agency, loved what I saw and the rest is history! I spent 9 fantastic years working for a national agency and made it into the top 10 consultants. I was then promoted to run my own branch which I took from strength to strength for 3 years (the highlight was personally being nominated as account manager of the year by a major national client!). In December 2007 I jumped at the chance to join Andrew with his venture and am really proud to be part of such an exciting company. I am very sociable and enjoy sport, especially watching rugby. I also go to the gym to try to counteract my love of food! I moved house last year so this year's project is decorating!
Martin Wilson – Consultant
My working career started with a local construction company where I undertook numerous roles. I completed a City and Guilds qualification in bricklaying and even spent 2 years working in France during my 6 years with the company. I then joined one of Europe's leading insurance companies in their claims department and after several years and a couple of promotions with the company I left that role to join one of the UK's largest independent insurance brokers within customer service. I met Andrew through a family friend and he recommended a career within recruitment, so when the opportunity arose to join the team it was an easy decision to make. I am really looking forward to using my customer service experience to build new relationships and help people find their dream job. In my spare time I love playing football and generally keeping fit.
Claire Payne - Consultant
I started my early career in financial services working for large international banking groups and financial organisations. Following redundancy I undertook a temporary assignment as an administrator within a large commercial recruitment agency where I became a consultant and stayed for 3 years. After this time I took an opportunity to move into marketing, which had always been an area of interest. I spent seven years working for a well established manufacturing organisation where I also undertook two years of university study to attain professional qualifications in marketing. In 2012 I had my first child and decided that I would like to return to work in a part time capacity. Having worked with Andrew in my previous recruitment life, I was thrilled when he offered me a position at Hartley Resourcing and jumped at the opportunity. It's a really refreshing environment to work in and I love the friendly and honest ethos of the business, along with the professional and driven nature of the team. In my spare time I enjoy singing, and regularly perform with a funky pop, soul and motown choir.
Alf Rodway - Consultant
I graduated in 2001 with a Business Studies degree and immediately started my career within customer service working for a global banking group for 7 years. I completed various customer service and back office managerial roles before I changed direction in 2008 and joined an outsourced provider. I have worked within customer service for 13 years, mainly within contact centres, managing teams of 8 up to 400FTE. I wanted a fresh challenge and knew of Hartley Resourcing having previously worked with them as one of their clients. I am really excited by the opportunity that has been presented to me and look forward to the challenge ahead. Outside of work, I enjoy family time with my children, reading and many sports including football, cycling and running.
What people say
Until recently I was temping through Hartley Resourcing and I just wanted to express how impressed I was with the service I received from Laura. From the very beginning she was helpful, friendly and never too busy to talk. Throughout all my involvement with Laura, she has always been thoroughly professional and efficient and I would have no hesitation in contacting Hartley again in the future.
