You will manage a team of 4 and report directly to Exec level, owning the responsibility for Estates across two large campuses with around 2000 students and 450 staff, and being the guardian of Health & Safety.

The Role
You will manage a team of four across two sites and your role will operate at a strategic level, but it is essential you are the sort of character that is humble and enjoys taking an interest in the detail too, without getting bogged down as the brief is very broad. Specific duties will include:
• Effective leadership of the teams who look after the Estates and Facilities so the colleges and community can make the best use of the physical resources available
• Manage all projects relating to capital build projects
• Oversee internal and external provision of services, such as catering, security and cleaning
• Manage the organisation of annual and ongoing maintenance programmes
• Look after the Trust’s fleet of vehicles, mainly minibuses and vans
• Take overall Health & Safety responsibility for the sites, oversee Health & Safety policy and audit
• Manage the day to day Health & Safety requirements of the sites through your team, ensuring they are qualified to conduct risk assessments, safety checks and inspections
• Advise on risk assessments for events where there may be hazards, as well as advising on provisions necessary for student trips
• Communicate and report effectively at all levels including strategically with the senior leadership team and Governors

The Ideal Candidate
A solid experience and qualification in Health & Safety will be essential. Tangible and broad experience of facilities and estates will also be essential.
Effective organisation, communication and reporting will be other important competencies.
Putting the students at the forefront of everything is central to all roles at the Colleges so you genuinely have to care about the welfare of young people and take pride in playing your part in creating a fantastic learning environment and Estate for students to enjoy now and in the future.

Additional information
Your hard work will be rewarded in lots of ways. A competitive salary is offered and benefits are fantastic, including the Local Government Pension scheme which means an employer pension contribution of around 17-19%. Holidays are extremely generous at 29 days plus bank holidays. The other important reward is that your work as part of the senior management team will help to create a fantastic environment for young people to learn and develop.
