Job Description

Overview 

This is technically a Maternity Contract to start, but part of the role requirement is to help with acquisition work this year will create a permanent position.

This role has two direct reports as well as a wider HR team, such as shared services help with Administration, Payroll and Recruitment teams.  The population is 1400 heads spread mainly across the Midlands and North West.  You will base yourself at home a couple of days each week, will visit sites on other days and head office once a fortnight.

 

The Role
This BP role is valued within the business, it has a seat at the table.  You will engage with senior managers and provide support across the management teams.   Some of the key duties are as follows:

  • Manage and motivate Advisors to deliver their case work and act as escalation point for ER issues
  • Drive HR Projects across the business units.There is an exciting project pipeline
  • Analyse metrics to identify trend and drive HR activity
  • Partner with and coach line managers in relation to al ER issues, such as disciplinary, grievance and absence
  • Advise management teams through TUPE activity as there will be mergers and acquisitions

The Ideal Candidate
A few years meaty HR Generalist experience will be expected, and you should have or be working towards CIPD level 5 or 7.  As well as having technical HR experience, the right person for this role will be able to work on their own initiative and have the drive and ambition to take the HR function forward.  You will be down to earth, happy to be rolling sleeves up with detail work but also be able to step back to stay focused on managing the big picture.  If you are wanting a challenging and genuinely rewarding role please apply.  It will be hard work, but you will be rewarded in terms of career exposure and also a great range of company benefits. 

Salary is to ca £55k plus £6k car allowance
