We are currently recruiting for a Strategic Buyer to work for our Segensworth based client. This is a busy role that will require someone with a background as a Senior Buyer. It will require communicating with international suppliers as well as internal departments. You will be responsible for leading the strategic procurement of a wide range of production commodities. Taking a proactive approach to problem solving will be essential. Working as a senior member of the team, this is very much a busy Strategic Buyer role. You must be capable of building strong relationships and must enjoy problem solving. Your duties will include:
- Overseeing the end to end selection and sourcing of potential suppliers
- Conduct ongoing supplier risk assessments and audits
- Ensure materials are on time and adhere to price agreements for various projects
- Negotiate with suppliers and build strong working relationships
- Ensuring that internal targets and deadlines are met
- Ensuring that procurement activity conforms to best practice principles
The Ideal Candidate
In order to be considered for this role you will ideally be educated to a degree level and must have previous Senior Buyer experience. You will need to be keen to progress in your career and demonstrate leadership capabilities. You must be from an engineering/technical background as will need to understand technical products and materials. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of managing technical suppliers. A CIPS qualification is highly desirable.
